Message
from the GW President
Happy
Holidays
The holiday season is a very special
time of the year, regardless of the manner in which you celebrate. It is a time of remembrance of those we love and
hold dear to our heart, a time of giving, and a time for rejoicing.
Let us remember and celebrate
this wonderful breed that we all love. They are the single element that brings us together. In meeting each
of you, I have made wonderful new friends.
Although this is a very
trying time for many of us, let us take time to give. This does not need to be a financial gift, but the most important
gift we can each give...the gift of ourselves. This might be in the form of serving on the Board of Directors, on a
GW Committee, organizing or assisting at an activity, or participating at a function organized by someone else. It may
be a phone call to a dear friend or helping someone with an injured horse.
Let us rejoice for each of the
gifts that we have, not lament about what we don't have. We each have a special talent. Rejoice in that talent
and share it with others. The benefits you receive will be greater than what you give.
Join me in celebrating the joys
of owning, loving, and promoting Great Western and the Paso Fino horse.
I wish each of you a very Merry
Christmas or Happy Hanukkah .
Judi Bradbury
President, GWPFHA

REGISTRATION SPECIAL For HORSES OVER 720 DAYS OF AGE The
Registration Department is once again offering a special price for horses over 720 days of age. This time this offer
will be done in stages by the sex of the applicant horse. The first horses this special will be offered to are mares
which fall into this age category. The dates when the stallions' special will be held
are December 1 through December 26, 2008. The special for the geldings
will be March 2, 2009 to March 28, 2009. The current membership
rate for this age of horse is $495. But for this registration
special the rate will be $250 which
will include a DNA kit. If there is a transfer at the time of registration, the normal transfer fee will apply. The
registry rules that will apply to these registrations will be the current rules from the 2008 rule book. This includes,
but is not limited to, the sire, dam and application horse must be DNA tested, the applicant horse must qualify as an offspring
of the reported sire and dam, correct signatures based on the ownership history on file with PFHA must be received, and all
fees are paid. The recorded owner(s) or lessee(s) at the time of foaling MUST be current member(s) of the Association
for the special rate to be applied. Otherwise, the non member fee at the full rate will apply. Again, if a transfer
is requested at the time of registration, the regular transfer fee will apply. There will be only one (1) additional
information letter sent out if all the required items are not present when processing begins on these registrations. We will
send a copy of that letter to anyone else who may need to sign or provide information to complete your registration.
You will have 90 days from the date of the additional letter to provide the Association with any missing items or fees.
If all requirements have not been met within the 90 days, we will terminate the process and all fees paid will be forfeited.
There are no refunds of fees for registration of horses submitted under this special offer. So take advantage
of this offer to get some of your older horses registered and save over $300.
